2008 Season is Underway!

It's the middle of August, and already, the 'bones are hard at work! The leadership team arrived on Friday evening to spend the weekend getting ready to teach the remainder of the band; the rookies arrived on Tuesday morning and were quickly shown what it means to be a proud member of the Minnesota Marching Band. We are all hard at work and look forward to the arrival of the vets tomorrow!

The website is slowly being upgraded to meet our new, futuristic standards!

New features include:
-- Easy-to-read-and-update blog, for news and other things we want you to know
-- Cleaned-up site structure

-- New media page that doesn't take our hosting space

2008 Leadership Announced

The 2008 Trombone Leadership was Announced during the drum major auditions! The team will be:
-- Mandi Goplen
-- David Towey
-- Craig Haines
-- Adam Kaner
-- Andrew Kaner
-- Sam Tashima

First Football Game

The Trombones ended a long and difficult Spat Camp with yet another excellent performance on the field and in the stands. Our pregame show was the standard fare, 18 minutes of intense high-step marching, featuring a moment of silence for the victims of the nearby 35W bridge collapse. Our halftime was a traditional Big-Ten style show, showcasing our trademark marching style and all of our school songs. Our beloved Gophers came back from 21 points down to eventually take the lead, but ended up losing in overtime to Bowling Green University. We are all looking forward to a better showing from our team next week!

Spat Camp Begins!

The 2007 Marching Season is officially on its way as it always is with Spat Camp! We have 10 rookies and 21 returning members this year, for a solid 31 Trombones in the University of Minnesota Marching Band. We are all looking forward to another great year!
